The 'Storm Waters' water feature, located in Joynton Park, is a large scale environmental water artwork inspired by the site's hydraulic and ecological imperatives. It fuses art, environmental water technology, engineering and landscape design. 'Storm Waters' highlights the ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Design) principles of the park and the broader Victoria Park development)
Sydney Olympic Park Authority took the opportunity to create another playground area at Homebush. Northrop worked closely with the landscape architect and the builder to create a safe and innovative environment for the community to enjoy.
The new playground features large and small pond areas to encourage the natural habitat surroundings. The main play equipment were situated within sand pits, whereas the large timber framed structures created a different playground feel. The timber structures were made from recycled timber. Northrop was heavily involved with the detailed design and throughout the construction phase.
Northrop was Principal Consultant responsible for preparation of the Master Plan for Caddies Creek Reserve Playing Fields. The site is located within Sydney Water, flood-liable land. This required careful planning for earthworks to accommodate rugby union, soccer, athletics, baseball and hockey fields.
The Northrop Consultant Team has offered a Master Plan that accommodates multi-functional play and recreation facilities - sensitive to the environment and adjacent residential areas
